My most recent book, Reading Václav Havel (University of Toronto Press, 2015), examines the contemporary relevance of the Czech absurdist playwright, dissident, and "non-political" politician Václav Havel, who was considered one of the most influential intellectuals of our time.

Future projects include a second book on Havel devoted to his post-1989 intellectual contributions, a collaborative dictionary of keywords in Havel's thought, and a book for a non-academic audience on the lessons to be drawn from the 1989 revolutions in East Central Europe.
